MNF Halloween Special!

The Kansas City Chiefs host the San Diego Chargers MNF on Halloween night. These two AFC West teams met 4 weeks ago when the Chargers came out on top 20-17, despite not playing their best ball. In that game, the Chargers overcame 2 mind-boggling interceptions by Rivers. The Chiefs had a late drive stopped when Cassel threw an interception to end the game. Since then, the Chargers went 2-1 including a heartbreaking loss vs. the Jets last week in which Rivers threw 2 fourth quarter interceptions to lose after leading 21-10 at the half. Their 2 wins were over NFL bottom-feeders Broncos and Dolphins. On the other hand, the Chiefs have pulled off 3 straight victory's since their loss at SD; they beat Minn, Indy, Oak. While their offense is beginning to put up some points (28, 28, 22 L3 games), their defense has been stout, particularly when they picked off 6 balls thrown by the Raiders. But, they still only put up 300 total yards of offense. San Diego is clearly the more talented team here, but with Rivers struggling and the Chiefs surging, the oddsmakers set the line at SD -3 and the O/U at 44.5. While the Chiefs played the Chargers tough last game, I don't see them having enough offensive power to stay with SD. The Chiefs will absolutely miss the injured Charles in this game as Jackie Battle will find it tough to get going against this Chargers D. Turning to the passing game won't fare any better as the Chiefs average only 174 ypg through the air. Meanwhile, the Chargers have put up near 400 total ypg, and Mathews ran well against the Jets D last week (96 yards). This time vs. the Chiefs, Rivers takes care of the ball and while SD controls the T.O.P, they'll be able to put up 21-28 pts. The Chiefs will struggle to get much of anything going and will find it hard to put up their average of 17 ppg, including 14.5 @ Arrowhead. With that said, MY PREDICTION: Chargers 24 - Chiefs 14.
While I'll only be playing Chargers -3, the UNDER is worth a good luck as well. BOL Everyone!

Trends backing my pick: (Note: Most trends favor KC)
SD 7-1 in L8 vs. KC
SD 11-4 in L15 Overall
KC 2-4 ATS in L6 @ Home
KC 2-5 ATS in L7 vs. AFC West

Side Notes:
Chargers look in need of win before coming home to play Green Bay, then OAK.
Chargers 1 of 4 teams to rank in top 10 in offense and defense.
Chargers won 2nd meeting between these teams in each of past 5 seasons (including 31-0 last year after losing 21-14 in first matchup, and 43-14 in '09)
